Joining forces with long-time collaborator and ARIA-award winner Matt Walker, Australian rock royalty Tex Perkinskicks off the Fat Rubber Band album campaign with sharp shooting single “Danger Has Been Kind”
Tex Perkins & The Fat Rubber Band is the latest phase of the Tex evolution to wow crowds around the country. Selling out shows across major capital cities, regional towns and iconic festivals such as Adelaide Fringe and the Gympie Muster, the twangs and distortion from Tex and Matt have become the ‘fire and brimstone’ behind their loved country-funk sound.
The Fat Rubber Band made their debut with a double single in May, featuring renditions of Allen Toussaint’s “Everything I Do Gonna Be Funky” and Bobby Charles’ “I Must Be in a Good Place Now”. This highly anticipated record was the first for Tex in 7 years, and with fond memories still fresh in the mind Double J added the title track to rotation and fans were eager to hear more.
“Danger Has Been Kind” is the first single off the album. Living life on the edge is a trait we’ve seen throughout Tex’s career and this swampy blues number encapsulates that to a tee.
