Finding common cause in Link Wray’s electric catalogue, Tex Perkins and Matt Walker began working on a collection of swampy blues and formed the Fat Rubber Band. They debuted with the single “Danger Has Been Kind,” premiering the new project on Double J and featuring on Apple Music’s New Music Daily and Headliners playlists.
“Place In The Sun” is the second single from their upcoming debut album, due November 5. Full of that rural twang and fuzz, “Place In The Sun” serves as the soundtrack to the great Australian dream. Beneath the swampy country blues, Tex delivers the honest, hard-working mantra that lead him to where he is today.
Tex describes his “Place In The Sun” as, “Where you feel you belong, where you fall back to and what you’ll defend. It could be your place of refuge, your fortress of solitude or your temple of doom.”
“Place In the Sun” premiered on Double J Mornings with Zan Rowe and landed on Spotify’s New Music Fridays and Broad Chords, Apple Music’s New Music Daily and Youtube Music’s Releases playlists.
“Place In The Sun” is available now on all streaming platforms.
